Where Houston dryer vent reroutes actually go wrong

Attic radiant barrier changes the job. Foil decking in newer Katy and Fulshear builds means the installer worked blind under reflective sheeting. Duct gets crushed against a truss web. Look for the shiny dent. That crush point is usually the whole problem.

Blown-in cellulose hides problems too. Our attics hold loose fill deep over the joists. A disconnected joint buries itself and vents lint into insulation. Damp lint plus Gulf Coast attic air grows mold on the sheathing above it. You smell it before you see it.
